
The IFAD-Agrihub project offers a unique and comprehensive approach to establishment, testing and operations of youth agribusiness hubs in Nigeria. These hubs are intended to be transformational and integrate agricultural production and processing by imparting skills sets for youth to gain employment in the agricultural sector and equip and backstop youths for agribusiness enterprise development.
GOAL AND OBJECTIVES
The goal of the Agrihub project is to create sustainable employment and income generating opportunities for youth in agriculture related activities
The overall objective is to develop a network of integrated agribusiness hubs to build entrepreneurial capacity and technical/managerial skills of rural youth for sustainable employment.
THE SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES ARE:
- To support development of youth integrated agri-business hubs through strategic partnerships, and;
- To generate empirical evidence of the developed and tested integrated agribusiness hub models to inform policy and national institutional adjustments to drive scaling up the successful models to create jobs for youth.
